Officially waiting

We're "officially waiting". We've really been waiting to have a baby since May 2006, but now we're "OFFICIALLY" waiting. (I guess we weren't official before.) Our adoption profile went live on the agency's website yesterday. After 7 1/2 months of paperwork, interviews, background checks, we're done with our part. Now we just hope that a birth mother sees our profile and wants us to be the parents of her baby. Whew! No pressure, right?!?!

I know that this next step in the journey can take months to years, but I feel like we're closer now than we've ever been. The thought that we may actually get to be parents soon is so overwhelming, scary, thrilling... so many things that I can't even describe them all. I hope I'm a good mom. I hope that our wait isn't too long. I hope we don't have any trouble coming up with the rest of the money for the attorney's fees. I hope I hope I hope. Here's to hoping!
