The waiting is the hardest part

Boy does Tom Petty know what he's talking about.

We got a phone call this week from our adoption agency. An expectant mother wanted to speak to us. Let me just let that sink in for a minute... A possible match. SERIOUSLY?!?!? Uh, I'm not ready! No wait. Yes I am. No I'm not. Wait, WHAT?!?!?

So, over the past few days she and I have been emailing back and forth. She sounds wonderful and it sounds like this might be a good match. But now, we wait for her to make her decision. I'm praying and hoping and praying that this is our baby. If so, it means a baby girl in the house before Christmas. (!!!!!!!!!!!)

In the meantime, we wait. I thought the wait for a match would be the hardest part. Turns out, I was wrong. The back and forth emailing is excruciating. I send my email off into the ether and wait on pins and needles for a response. I read and re-read my emails to her hoping that I'm coming off OK and that I don't sound like the crazed lunatic that I have become over the past few days. I'm cool. I'm calm. I'm collected. I'm the perfect person to be the Mom to your baby.

So, I know not many people read my piddly little blog. (Melba, I think you're my only follower! LOL!) But, if you could spare any good juju, positive vibes, prayers, whatever, please send them our way. We could really use them right now.

OK, I'm going back to not being at all productive at work and checking my emails incessantly. Carry on.
